Sharon’s writing career has taken her through global retail markets, healthcare, and tech, and she’s enjoyed fun successes along the way, like working on billboards for Times Square, TV commercials, and an independent film. But her passion is playing and writing about music. She was attracted to Boardwalk Riot! because of its raw, unapologetic style and authentic approach to writing about music and the people who make it.
She balances life as a mom and her job as a writer, with a long-standing passion for music. As a former full-time drummer, percussionist, and backing vocalist, Sharon has deep roots in the Jersey Shore and tri-state area music scene. She regularly played Asbury Park venues long before it became the art and music mecca it is today. Her previous bands include The Fembots, Purple Image, and one of NJ’s early all-female bands, Street Angels. She’s played drums in all types of shows, from fundraisers to church concerts to biker rallies. True story.
After taking years off from playing to focus on her family and her writing career, Sharon returned to music. As a member of the 2026 Sisters for a Cure Concert, she has had the opportunity to share the stage with some of the area’s top acts and continues to be blown away by the depth of talent coming out of South Jersey. Boardwalk Riot! gives her a great excuse to keep talking about music, going to shows, and mixing up words into stories that she hopes inspires our local music lovers.
